Bhupendra Jadawat, who has been a part of 'Class of 83' and 'Modern Love: Mumbai', talks about his career and upcoming projects

You came to Mumbai in 2017. How has been the journey for you?

It has been beautiful. I am never in a hurry. I am working on my craft. I just want to become a good actor. Mumbai teaches you how to dream big.

How did you discover the actor in you?

I was in Kota and not much interested in studies. After my class 12th exams, I came to Jaipur and started doing theatre. This was the time I started enjoying myself. After that I got through NSD and informed my family about my intention of becoming an actor.

How did your family react to your choice?

They saw the confidence in me and were happy.

What role has Laxman Utekar played in your career?

Mumbai is a city where so many newcomers come to act and I am thankful that he has shown trust in me. Validation is very important for an actor.

What is your idea of love?

To me self-love is very important. Mutual respect is something that every couple should have. One should not take the other person for granted.

What’s your focus now as an actor?

I would like to be a part of a good story and work with a good director. There are so many films and web series being made, but few can create a lasting impact.

One person whom you look up to?

It has to be Rajendra Panchal, whom I met in Jaipur. From him I learnt how to explore art and music; he actually taught me how to become an actor.

Apart from acting, what other passion do you have?

Music keeps me alive. I have a harmonium and practice every day without fail. I also listen to a lot of good music. I am not a poet, but I love to read poems.

Which is the one film that brought a change in you?

It is Imtiaz Ali’s Rockstar. I saw this film after I came to Jaipur. Though the film got mixed reviews, it brought about an important change in my life.
