Alia Bhatt is all-powerful as mafia queen in ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’ first look

Alia Bhatt dropped the ‘first look’ of her upcoming movie ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’ on social media on Wednesday. 

The versatile actress is set to play a ‘mafia queen’ in the movie—and the posters, in which Bhatt can be seen gazing intensely, seem to completely justify her fierce role. The movie is being directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and is being produced by Bhansali and Jayantilal Gada. 

In a tweet, Bhansali Productions said: “Strength. Power. Fear! One look, a thousand emotions. Presenting the first look of #GangubaiKathiawadi. In cinemas 11 September 2020.” 

The movie is set for release on 11 September and is based on a chapter of Hussian Zaidi's book 'Mafia Queens of Mumbai'. Bhatt will play Gangubai Kathiawadi, a brothel-owner-cum-underworld-don in the movie.
