Chandigarh, October 15

The much-awaited ‘Sooryavanshi’ finally has a release date. An excited Akshay Kumar shared a special video to share that the film will hit theatres worldwide on November 5. The video also features Ajay Devgn and Ranveer Singh and together these actors invite movie lovers to theatres. They ask the fans to ‘come celebrate with us’.

Akshay Kumar shared the video on his Instagram and wrote, “"Interval hua khatam, now it’s showtime! #Sooryavanshi releasing this Diwali, 5th November at a cinema near you. Come celebrate with us. #BackToCinemas."

In the video, which is shot inside a cinema hall, the three actors urge the cinegoers to watch the movie in theatres this Diwali. "Do you remember this place where you have seen so many emotions. No one had thought that like our films we will also have interval in our lives. But we are back," Kumar said.

Ajay Devgn and Ranveer Singh have special appearances in ‘Sooryavanshi’.

Ajay Devgn also shared the video on his social media accounts. He wrote, "Come Back to Cinemas this Diwali! Sooryavanshi releasing on November 5th. #Sooryavanshi #BackToCinemas."

Katrina Kaif, who stars opposite Akshay in 'Sooryavanshi', expressed her though on movies to finally return to theatres. On her Instagram, she said, "18 months have passed since our entire entertainment industry including film and stage has been on a standstill due to the pandemic. It's been a long difficult wait for us but finally patience prevailed and we are back!"

The actress also wrote, "Now it is not about just about our film but it is about our industry as a family and the relationship we share with our beloved audience! So let's come together for the magic of cinema! Sooryavanshi releasing on 5th November!."

Sharing the same message, Rohit Shetty also shared the video and urged fans to experiencing the magic of cinemas again with "Sooryavanshi".

Two weeks back when Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray announced the reopening of cinema halls in the state from October 22, Akshay had shared a picture with co-actors Ranveer Singh and Ajay Devgn along with Sooryavanshi director Rohit Setty, on his social media account that Sooryavanshi will release on Diwali  but a date wasn’t mentioned. Thanking Uddhav Thackeray, he wrote,  “So many families would be thanking Sh Uddhav Thackeray today! Grateful for allowing the reopening of cinema halls in Maharashtra from Oct 22. Ab kisi ke roke na rukegi - AA RAHI HAI POLICE #Sooryavanshi #Diwali2021.”

Even Director Rohit Shetty had last month announced via social media that "Sooryavanshi" will be released during Diwali soon after the announcement of theatres reopening in Maharashtra.

Sooryavanshi was originally scheduled for March 24, 2020 release but it got delayed twice due the lockdown. It is the fourth film in Rohit Shetty’s cop universe that began with blockbuster Ajay Devgn-starrer ‘Singham’ followed by ‘Singham Returns’, next was Ranveer Singh’s Simmba and now it is Akshay Kumar ready to enthrall the audience with Sooryavanshi that also stars Katrina Kaif.

The upcoming film is presented by Reliance Entertainment and produced by Rohit Shetty Picturez in association with Dharma Productions and Cape of Good Films.
