New Delhi, February 8

The Shiromani Akali Dal Delhi State, formed by Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) president Harmeet Singh Kalka, has announced its expansion with the establishment of a unit in Indirapuram, Ghaziabad district, Uttar Pradesh.

The newly established unit will be led by Gurmeet Singh Rummy, and the appointment of office-bearers was announced during a function attended by Kalka and party president MPS Chadha.

The party highlighted Rummy’s dedication and service during the Covid-19 pandemic, including providing ambulances and conducting medical camps.

Kalka emphasised the party’s growth in various areas, including Delhi, and expressed the aim to serve the Sikh community, particularly the sizable Sikh population from Indirapuram to UP.

Jasmain Singh Noni, joint secretary of the DSGMC, praised Rummy’s consistent dedication to serving humanity and recognised his significant role. In March 2022, Kalka severed ties with the Sukhbir Badal-led Shiromani Akali Dal and formed his own party.
