Show comments

Amritsar, February 27

The SGPC, the Sikh Coordination Committee East Coast (SCCEC) and American Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (AGPC) have condemned the violence in Delhi.

SGPC chief Gobind Singh Longowal said, “The anti-Sikh riots of 1984 have not been forgotten till date. It is the responsibility of the government to ensure safety of minority community.”

In a strongly worded statement, the working committees of the SCCEC and AGPC termed the violence as state sponsored. “...This is a repeat of 1984, except this time the victims were Muslims....This is a planned attack by the state-sponsored machinery which started at the end of visit by US President Trump,” said Pritpal Singh, coordinator, AGPC. — TNS
