Delhi Congress’ first list out

New Delhi, January 18

The Congress on Saturday announced its first list of 54 candidates for the February 8 Delhi Assembly polls, fielding former Union Minister Krishna Tirath from Patel Nagar reserved segment.

Poonam Azad, the wife of ex BJP leader Kirti AZad, will contest from Sangam Vihar. Azad is the Congress campaign committee chief for Delhi elections.

Former AAP leader Alka Lamba bagged a ticket from Chandni Chowk and former Delhi unit chief of Congress Arvinder Singh Lovely will contest from Gandhinagar.

Among former Delhi Ministers, the party has fielded Ashok Walia from Krishna Nagar, Tarwinder Marwah from Jangpura, Haroon Yusuf from Ballimaran. Delhi Congress working chief Rajesh Lilothia and Devendra Yadav have been fielded from Mongolpuri and Badli respectively. The Congress did not name anyone opposite Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal. — TNS
