180 women entrepreneurs display organic food items

New Delhi, February 22

More than 180 women entrepreneurs are taking part in the Organic Food Festival being held at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium.

The festival organised by National Institute of Food Technology Entrepreneurship and Management (NIFTEM) with the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) has female entrepreneurs and self-help groups from 25 states across the country. The food festival opened at 11 am and continued till 6 pm. The festival commenced on February 21.

These entrepreneurs have come up with some of the unique items such as kiwi wine from Arunachal Pradesh, chia seeds jam, pesto sauce from Ladakh, and microgreens, jaggery, organic pulses from Punjab among others.

Belonging from Fazilka district of Punjab, Madhumeet Kaur Sidhu termed the platform important for the promotion of organic food items and empowering the fairer gender.

Union Cabinet Minister of Food Processing Harsimrat Kaur Badal also paid a visit with her husband and president of the Shiromani Akali Dal Sukhbir Singh Badal. She interacted with the participants and sought their feedback.
