Before taking up any city development agenda, new Mayor Raj Bala Malik has started the development of her own office!

Opts for chair she used in 2012

  • The red velvet Mayor chair, worth Rs 70,000, was kept aside by new Mayor Raj Bala Malik. She instead opted for the chair she used in 2012 when she was the Mayor. “This chair was lying at a corner in the rest room. I asked my staff to take it out. It is comfortable,” she said. Raj Bala has also changed the position of her chair and table.

On the first day of work, several cosmetic changes were seen in her office. A wooden partition has been raised inside her office. Besides, another wooden structure has been raised inside the Mayor’s rest room. Also, some pictures, including of RSS ideologues, have been removed as her staff said they would be putting these up once the changes are made in the room.
