72-year-old man dies, 4 fresh Covid cases in Ludhiana district

Ludhiana, October 19

Four persons tested positive for Covid and one death due to the disease was reported in the district today. The patient who lost his life was 72-year-old man from Khanna and was admitted to a hospital in Chandigarh.

The recovery rate of Covid-19 patients has reached 97.57 per cent and there are 22 active patients in the district at present.

Total six patients — four from Ludhiana and two from other districts/states —tested positive in the last 24 hours.

Till date, a total of 26,33,562 samples for Covid test have been taken, of which 25,34,192 were found negative. Now, the total number of patients belonging to Ludhiana is 87,578, while 11,692 patients belong to other districts/states.

The total number of patients who lost their lives to Covid is 2,105 from Ludhiana and 1,053 from other districts.

Samples of 7,144 suspected patients were sent for testing today and their results are expected shortly.
