Zirakpur, April 14

Two vehicle thieves stole an i10 car from a society in Zirakpur in front of its owner last night.

The complainant, Naveen Sharma, a resident of Krishna Enclave, Dhakoli, reported that two unknown persons, who arrived in a Pulsar motorcycle, managed to steal his car in front of him.

“There was a function in our society due to which everyone was awake. The suspects first tried to steal a neighbour’s car around 11.30 pm, but the anti-theft alarm got activated following which the suspects fled,” he said. Naveen said when he came to know about the attempt made by the thieves to steal a car, he went to check his car and found a person sitting in it, while another person was waiting alongside on a motorcycle.

“By the time I could react, the suspect sped away in my car. His accomplice also managed to flee,” he said. The victim said it was a second-hand car purchased 13 days ago.

The police were informed and an investigation initiated.
