Mohali, March 15

The NSS Unit of Paragon Senior Secondary School, Sector 71, here, celebrated an event to honour women achievers in different spheres of life from the Tricity.

The event saw the felicitation of two women achievers who gained prominence in their chosen fields against all odds. The two eminent personalities — Dr Navdeep Sandhu and Vaishnavi Boora — were honoured by school president Kulwant Kaur and principal Nirmla Sharma.

Dr Navdeep Sandhu is the founder of Micah Pharmaceutical Company.

Vaishnavi Boora, a mother, has carved out a niche for herself as an athlete and coach and is training many people through her online training programme. The special event helped acknowledge the role of women and their contribution to make India and the world a better place to live in. NSS Programme Officer Maninder Pal Singh said the interactive session gave the teachers a wonderful opportunity to clear their apprehensions regarding health and fitness. — TNS
