Woman held on cheating charge released on bail

Additional Sessions Judge Rajesh Sharma has granted bail to Rashmi Negi, who was arrested on a charge of cheating.

Terminder Singh, an advocate appearing for the accused, argued before the court that she had been falsely implicated in the case and she herself was a victim in the present case and had already filed complaints against some persons.

Terminder claimed that the petitioner had handed over her mobile and all gazettes required to the police.

The trial will take a long time and no fruitful purpose would be served by keeping the petitioner behind the bars. The police arrested Negi after registering an FIR on a complaint by some persons who alleged that she cheated them in the name of providing visas. They alleged that the accused neither returned the money nor their documents. The advocate claimed that the accused was herself cheated by some persons who took money for providing visas and committed forgery by sending fake visas for her clients.
