Chander Verma elected Chandigarh traders' body head

Businessman Chander Verma has been unanimously elected as the new president of the Chandigarh Business Council (CBC), a city-based traders’ body.

During a meeting today, members of the council thanked Neeraj Bajaj, the outgoing president, for actively performing his duties for nearly two terms.

On the occasion, the new CBC president said he would continue to take up issues concerning traders of the city with the UT Administration, the Municipal Corporation and other departments concerned.

He said he would approach the Chandigarh Administration to complete the VAT assessment on the lines of the Punjab Government. Verma said the Administration should issue completion certificate, passing of building plans online and should adopt public and business-friendly approach. — TNS
