Two booked for assaulting, threatening Kalka woman

The Kalka police have booked two persons for brutally assaulting a woman after forcibly entering her house here on Monday.

The suspects have been identified as Deepu and Prem Sagar, residents of Upper Mohalla in Kalka.

The victim, Balwinder Kaur, a resident of Upper Mohalla, Kalka, in her complaint to the police, said she had a dispute with Prem Sagar’s wife Sudarshana, who had hit her on the head with a brick. The victim said she had filed a case at the Kalka police station in this regard.

Balwinder said she was standing in the balcony on the first floor of her house around 10 am on Monday. Prem Sagar’s son-in law Deepu, who was standing in the gallery of the former’s house, started abusing and threatening her.

When she objected to it, Deepu forcibly entered her house with a baseball bat and starting hitting the closed door. He later hit her on the left ear with the bat. Prem Sagar was also accompanying Deepu, who continued to hit her on the legs and arms with the baseball bat.

She said Prem Sagar did not intervene to save her. Instead, he threatened her that if she did not leave the locality they would eliminate her, along with her son. She said the suspects also threatened her to not to file any police complaint.

The victim said there was a threat to her life from Deepu and Prem Sagar’s family. A case under Sections 323, 452 and 506 of the IPC has been registered at the Kalka Police station. However, no arrests have been made so far. — TNS
