Show comments

Zirakpur: Truck union members staged a protest at the Chhat light point for the second day on Tuesday. The protesters are demanding restoration of unions that were dissolved by the Congress government in 2018. The union members said they were in dire straits as there were no official rates and the annual hike of 5-6 per cent was also not implemented. On Day 1, there was a huge traffic jam at the spot as the movement of vehicles from Zirakpur, Dera Bassi, Patiala and Mohali side was obstructed at the light point. However, traffic was not obstructed on Tuesday. — TNS
