The police raided three shops, two in Balongi and one in Kharar, and booked their proprietors for selling huge quantities of fake salt and tea of a branded company.

The shop owners have been booked under the Copyright Act. Goods worth Rsfive-six lakh were seized from them.

The police said the salt and tea were being packaged and sold as products of a branded company. A company official had given a complaint in this regard to the police. One of the shopkeepers claimed that he had genuine bills of the goods purchased from a company dealer.
