Six arrested in travel fraud, gambling, illicit liquor cases

The police arrested six persons in four different cases under the Immigration Act, Gambling Act and Excise Act here today.

Three persons, who were impersonating as travel agents, were held in two different cases. They were duping students and others on the pretext of sending them abroad.

The suspects have been identified as Neeraj Kumar, a resident of Savitry Enclave; Chandan Nagpal, a resident of AK Homes; and Sanjay Bhullar, a resident of Shanti Kunj. The suspects did not have any valid documents and were running shops in the CCC shopping complex on the VIP road clandestinely through mobile phones and social media posts.

Two suspects, Robin and Nikhil, both residents of Kaithal, were held for betting from a rented flat in Zirakpur. Six mobile phones, one laptop and one LCD screen has been seized from them. A person, Aditya, was nabbed with 24 bottles of country-made illicit liquor.
