Panchkula, December 24

In the wake of the Ludhiana court blast, the police here today strengthened security at the district courts complex in Sector 1.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Mohit Handa reviewed security arrangements at the courts complex this morning and issued an advisory to boost security in and around the building.

An ACP rank officer had been appointed as nodal officer to look after the security of the complex, the DCP said.

At entry and exit points, door frame metal detectors are in place and police personnel, equipped with handheld metal detectors, are deployed there, he added.

Handa said they also organised regular meetings to review security at the complex.

It had been instructed to check fire extinguishers installed at the complex and the operator had been put on alert.
