Sector 35 man tests positive

Chandigarh, April 1

A 49-year-old man, who resides in Sector 35, has tested positive for Covid-19. The count of Covid cases in the city has jumped to 16.

He was admitted to an isolation ward at the GMSH-16 on Monday. He had typical pneumonia with bilateral pneumonitis. He has no travel history to any Covid-hit country. However, he has a contact history with two of his relatives at Mansa, Punjab. One of the two relatives had come from Dubai and the other from Singapore.

Hotel accommodation for UT, PGI doctors

The UT Administrator has announced that all doctors who want to stay in quarantine and not with their families will be provided free accommodation and food at Hotel Parkview. Any doctor of the UT or the PGI could avail of this facility. The UT Administration has also ordered more PPEs for doctors.

His three family members have been home-quarantined. The Health Department has sanitised the residence. The information about his contacts in Punjab has been shared with the authorities in the neighbouring state.
