Chandigarh, February 22

Rajeshwar Football Club (RFC) stunned St Stephen’s Football Club by a solitary goal during the ongoing U-20 Chandigarh State Men’s Football League at the Sector 46 sports complex.

The match remained goalless even after stipulated 70 minutes of the play. In the dying minutes of the match, RFC lads were lucky to get a free kick awarded right over the top of the box.

Harshbir took the free-kick, but St Stephan’s custodian successfully punched back the ball in the play. Striker Saliq Khan luckily received the rebound on his right foot and calmly posted it over the goal line to find the winning goal.

In the second match, Punjab Engineering College (PEC) Football Club beat Sandhu FC 3-1. Virender scored two goals and Amitoj scored one for PEC, whereas Krish netted a consoling goal for Sandhu FC.
