Chandigarh, June 19

Rain is expected tomorrow and the day after in the city. According to the Chandigarh Meteorological Department, rain is likely for the next two days and a clear sky is expected thereafter. This month has already seen 31.2 mm of rainfall.

“It is due to the influence of a western disturbance at the middle tropospheric level and southwesterly winds from Arabian Sea to northwest India at the lower tropospheric level,” said a Met update.

The city today recorded 31.3°C as the maximum temperature, 6.9 degrees below normal. The minimum temperature was 22.7°C.

The maximum as well as the minimum temperatures are expected to rise gradually over the next few days. The city had yesterday recorded the coldest June day after 2013. Yesterday, it had recorded 27.9°C as the maximum temperature, 10.3 degrees below normal. It was way back in June 2013 that the maximum temperature was lower than this.
