PU girls finish 4th, qualify for Khelo Games

Chandigarh, January 14

The women's football team of Panjab University finished fourth in the All India Inter-University Football Championship held at Bhubaneswar and qualified for the Khelo India Games.

PU girls blanked Jabalpur University 7-0 in the first league match, but suffered a 0-1 loss to Anamalai University in their second outing. The side played a 1-1 draw against Bihar University, while they lost 0-2 to Guru Nana Dev University, Amritsar, in their last league match. Coaches Sandeep Singh and Ajay Pal Singh accompanied the team.
