Patrolling fortified in Mohali

The Mohali police today launched a patrolling service with 12 women cops on six two-wheelers to check eve-teasing and other related issues in school and colleges of the city.

SSP Vivek S Soni flagged off the patrol service from the District Administrative Complex. The schools and colleges in the city have been divided into six beats. Four halting points have been created in each beat, thus a total of 24 halting points will be covered by women police personnel.

The personnel, who have been provided with wireless sets and batons, will be on duty from 7 am to 6 pm. They will cover 25 important schools, colleges and other educational institutions.

In the morning today, a video conference was also held with principals of schools and colleges regarding this campaign.

Soni said PCR patrolling in Mohali city had been boosted with 40 police personnel and 10 more motorcycles. —
