Chandigarh, May 22

Scores of parents gathered outside St Xavier’s School, Sector 44, and protested against the demand of tuition fee by the school administration. They contended that the school did not provide online classes and has charged fee for two months.

A parent, on the condition of anonymity, said, “The school did not conduct any classes and now they are claiming fee. I wonder what is this for? We are facing a huge financial crisis at home and they are charging fee.”

Naresh Handa, Assistant Director, St Xavier School, said, “School teachers have been sending online study material to students on WhatsApp. The claim that school did not impart any online classes is baseless. We have always been sympathetic towards parents who are facing financial hardship and never pressurised them to pay fee.”
