Panchkula, January 23

Going ahead with its plan to speed up the vaccination programme, the Panchkula Health Department will organise 12 session sites on Monday with a target to vaccinate at least 2,840 healthcare workers.

The vaccination drive will be held at Civil Dispensary, Sector 4, Saket Hospital, Alchemist Hospital, Civil Dispensary, Sector 7, Primary Health Centre (PHC), Morni, PHC, Nanakpur, Ojas Hospital, PHC, Pinjore, Civil Hospital, Sector 6, PHC, Surajpur, Urban Health Centre (UHC), Sector 16, and PHC, Kot.

A majority of these sites will be conducting multiple sessions to boost vaccination numbers.

As many as 12 vaccinators will be on duty for all these sites and six officials will supervise the Monday’s vaccination drive.

Low turnout at vaccination centres in the first six days (little above 50 per cent) had compelled the health authorities to set a high target for the upcoming sessions. This would allow them to cover more healthcare workers even if turnout remains average or low.

At 53.8 per cent achievement rate, only 1,424 healthcare workers have been inoculated in the district so far.

As many as 6,219 health workers – 3,541 government employees and 2,678 private professionals – have been identified for inoculation in the first phase of the vaccination drive.
