The police resorted to a lathicharge to push back the crowd, injuring protesters in the process.

In a press release, the police, however, denied the claim and stated that the protesters tried to run over police personnel with tractors, leaving few policemen injured.

Meanwhile, Bharatiya Kisan Union (Charuni) president Gurnam Singh Charuni, in a video message, asked the farmers to reach Chandimandir toll plaza in large numbers.

As per Charuni, he may reach the toll barrier in an hour.

He said, ‘’The police resorted to a brutal lathicharge in Panchkula in which many protesters have suffered injuries. Protesters have also been taken into custody from two-three spots.
