Oyo refutes allegations

A spokesman for Oyo today said the allegations levelled against Oyo Hotels and Homes Pvt Ltd (OHHPL) and its executives by Vikas Gupta, owner of Casavillaz in Mohali, were completely false, baseless and unsubstantiated.

He said the complainant submitted only a few compliance documents and assured the company that the rest of the documents would be submitted in due course. However, despite several requests, the venue partner failed to submit the remaining documents. Therefore, the contract was terminated.

The spokesman said both Oyo and the complainant had signed an agreement that carried a detailed dispute resolution mechanism, hence, the matter did not fall under criminal jurisdiction.

October 6, 2020: The Punjab and Haryana High Court has granted stay order against the FIR filed by Vikas Gupta against OYO and Weddingz.in senior leadership. A statement issued by OYO said, “The court was of the prima facie opinion that the said dispute was civil in nature and that there was no involvement of any criminal offence.” By virtue of the order, “all and any other proceedings in the said FIR, including the notices issued under 41-A notice (issued by police), are stayed by the Hon’ble court,” the OYO statement added. — TNS
