Chandigarh: Nigerian held with 172-gram heroin

A Nigerian involved in drug peddling has been arrested by the Operations Cell of the Chandigarh police while possessing 172 grams of heroin.

The accused, identified as Chukwudi Samson (34), was arrested from near the Sector 17 bus stand by a team led by Inspector Amanjot Singh, in-charge of the Operations Cell.

The police said the accused came to the city to deliver consignment to some drug peddler.

A case under the NDPS Act has been registered against the accused at the Sector 17 police station.

Last week, a Nigerian, Benjamin (25), was arrested by the Operations Cell while possessing 274 grams of heroin.
