Mohali water supply to be hit

Mohali: Due to leakage in the pipeline from the Kajauli waterworks to Chandigarh near Madoli village, the water supply will be affected on Saturday. Sunil Kumar, Executive Engineer, Division No. 2, Waterworks and Sanitation Department, said the supply would be affected in Phase 1 to 11, Sector 70-71, Mataur and Shahimajra villages, and the Industrial Area, Phase 1 to 5, in Mohali. He said water would be supplied at low pressure in morning and evening. TNS

Youth held with 400-gm ganja

Chandigarh: A youth has been arrested with ganja. Gulshan (26), a resident of Bapu Dham Colony, was arrested from near the Transport Chowk area in Sector 26 with 400 gm of ganja. TNS

Chandigarh: The police have booked a dhaba owner in Mani Majra for opening it beyond the permissible time limit on April 8. Mithai Lal opened the dhaba on the old Ropar road, Mani Majra, during curfew hours. TNS

Suitcase sends cops in a tizzy

Chandigarh: The police went into a tizzy when a suitcase was found abandoned at the mobile market in Sector 22 here on Friday evening. The police rushed to the spot and cordoned off the area. A bomb disposal squad also reached the spot. The police opened the suitcase and found clothes in it. TNS
