Mohali man’s revolver stolen from police station

A .32 bore revolver reportedly went missing from the Phase XI police station in Sector 66 here.

According to information from the police, the weapon belonged to Jagatar Singh, a resident of Phase X here. He had deposited his licensed .32 revolver with the police station before the last elections held in Mohali. When he reached the police station to collect his weapon after the elections, the police failed to find it.

Inspector Jagdeep Singh, Station House Officer of the Phase XI police station, said: “The police were searching for the missing weapon since long. Now, it has been confirmed that the weapon was stolen by someone from the police station building. We have registered a case and started investigations.”

A case has been registered against unidentified persons under Section 380 (theft in dwelling house) of the IPC at the Phase XI police station.
