Mohali, July 13

Reducing the Covid restrictions, the district administration today ordered that there would be no night curfew or Sunday curfew.

District Magistrate Girish Dayalan said all bars, cinema halls, restaurants, spas, swimming pools, coaching centres, sports complexes, gyms, malls, museums, zoos, etc, would be allowed to operate subject to the condition that the staff and visitors over 18 years of age had taken at least one dose of the Covid vaccine. Dayalan ordered that all schools would continue to remain closed while colleges, coaching centres and other institutions of higher learning were allowed to be open, provided a certificate was submitted that all teaching, non-teaching staff and students had received at least one dose of the vaccine, at least two weeks before the reopening of the institute. The certificate was to be submitted to the respective SDM/ADC/DC office, he added.

Dayalan said the limit on the gathering would be 100 for indoor and 200 for outdoor events. He said the orders would not apply to containment areas. Any violation would invite criminal proceedings under the Disaster Management Act, 2005, and the Indian Penal Code, 1860, he added.
