Minister hands over cheques for development works in villages

Punjab Health and Family Welfare and Labour Minister Balbir Singh Sidhu said the Punjab government had fulfilled 422 out of its 547 poll promises, while 52 promises had been partially fulfilled and 59 were yet to be fulfilled.

Balbir Singh Sidhu stated this while addressing people after handing over cheques for development works in various villages of the Mohali Assembly segment. He said with this, the Punjab government, led by Capt Amarinder Singh, had fulfilled 90 per cent of its promises.

Talking about the development works of the town, he said the Punjab government had sanctioned a grant of Rs13 crore for development works of 56 villages of the district. He said these grants would be used for works, including construction of dharamsalas, community centres, streets and drains, fencing of cemeteries, etc., in villages of the constituency.
