Milkha Singh stable, wife under observation

Chandigarh: Iconic former Indian sprinter and resident of the city Milkha Singh continues to be stable. However, his wife Nirmal Milkha Singh, former Indian volleyball team skipper, is under strict observation at the hospital, said doctors. “Milkha Singh continues to be stable. However Nirmal Milkha Singh’s oxygen requirement has gone up marginally. Both continue to be monitored closely,” mentioned the media bulletin. TNS

Man held with illicit liquor

Chandigarh: Hallo Majra resident Paryanshu was allegedly arrested with 240 bottles of illicit liquor near the Zirakpur barrier, Raipur Khurd, on Friday. The police said a case under Section of 61-1-14 of the Excise Act had been registered. TNS

Chandigarh: The BCCI on Saturday announced to hold the remaining matches of the 2021 IPL season in the UAE. The matches will be held during September-October this year. During an online special general meeting (SGM) convened by the BCCI, UT Cricket Association chief Sanjay Tandon, along with the members of other state boards, agreed to streamline the IPL 2021. TNS
