Manav Mangal hosted ‘Meet the Leaders’ programme wherein students met two more global leaders. First speaker was Shivam Shah (Toledo, Ohio), who is a young leader pursuing his MD in Surgery from University of Toledo. The second speaker was Shilpa Khatana (India), an IIT-Delhi graduate who also holds an MBA from Kellogg School of Management.

Millennium School, Mohali

Millennium School, Mohali, organised a workshop for its students on ‘Wellness diet and activities to prevent diabetes’. The workshop was attended by more than 200 students “Diabetes, which was earlier a disease of the elderly, is now threatening youngsters so much so that 10 per cent of the Indian youth between 10 and 19 years are pre-diabetic,” said Dr Sachin Mittal, Senior Consultant Endocrinologist, Fortis Hospital, Mohali.

DAV Public, Chandigarh

DAV, Sector 8-C, wore a decorative look as school fete was organised. School Principal Jaskiran Harika inaugurated the event. Stalls of skill games, DJ and food stalls were put up. Various activities were organised.

Gian Jyoti Global, Mohali

Gian Jyoti Global School organised a science exhibition on its campus. Students of Classes V to IX participated in it. Students presented their scientific temperament with zeal and enthusiasm. The event was a great success with science models such as rain water harvesting, drip irrigation, rotation of earth and automatic fire extinguisher. Herbal Poultry farm was one of unique model. Hydraulic bridge explained the Pascal’s law. Working model of earthquake simulator decoded how tectonic plates of Earth shift and cause earthquake. Demonstrations and interpretations were given by the participants and the spectators were immensely fascinated by their performance.

Sri Aurobindo School, Chandigarh

Sri Aurobindo School of Integral Education, Chandigarh, celebrated its silver Jubilee year by organising its annual function — ‘Prevoyance – the Mark of a Leader’. The event was presided over by renowned architect SD Sharma. The show was an amalgam of synchronised dance performances, music and drama. A musical tale, ‘Bal Leela – Raas Leela’, by students of Class V was a treat to the eyes. Students of Class VII enacted a classic drama, ‘Midsummer Night’s Dream’, by Shakespeare which left everyone spellbound. The life journey of Sri Aurobindo and his achievements were brought alive by students of Class VIII. The annual report focusing on the vision and achievements was presented by Principal Garima S Bhardwaj.

SD School, Chandigarh

SD School, Sector 24-C, Chandigarh, organised an educational trip to Pushpa Gujral Science city, Kapurthala, to develop scientific aptitude of students. They learnt about various concepts of environment, space and nuclear science, technology, health science, energy, ecosystem. The visit enhanced the scientific temper and logical thinking of students.

AKSIPS-41, Chandigarh

National Consumer Rights Day was observed at AKSIPS-41 Smart School to spread awareness regarding responsibilities, duties and rights of consumer. A role-play activity was conducted and students explained different rights and responsibilities of consumer. They also discussed three-tier redressal commission for filing complaints against unfair trade practices of traders and manufacturers. Ritu Bali, Principal of AKSIPS 41 Smart School, applauded the efforts of students.

MRIS, Mohali, paid homage to Guru Gobind Singh and remembered the sacrifices made by his family, especially his four sons. To enlighten the schoolchildren about the history and the teachings of Guru Gobind Singh, they were shown ‘Char Sahibzade’ movie.

Blue Bird High, Panchkula

Around 80 students of Class X visited the Tynor Orthotics in Mohali and witnessed the professional environment. It enhanced their interpersonal skills and communication techniques. Students became more aware of the industry and came to know about artificial intelligence.
