Manan brings Chandigarh out of trouble

Chandigarh, February 18

A magnificent century knock by captain Manan Vohra and a 90-run partnership with Raj Angad Bawa helped Chandigarh recover from 110/5 to 200/6 against Hyderabad’s total of 347 on the second day of their Ranji Trophy match being played in Bhubaneswar.

Earlier, Hyderabad added another 77 runs to their overnight score of 270/7. Chandigarh bowled out Hyderabad for 347 wherein Jagjit Singh Sandhu (4/80) picked four wickets. Bawa (2/44) and Gaurav Gambhir (2/76) took two wickets each.

Chandigarh got off to a miserable start as Sarul Kanwar was injured in the second over. Later, Arslan Khan (1) and Gaurav Puri (2) succumbed to the pace attack of Rakshann Readdi. At 100/5, Raj Angad Bawa joined Manan Vohra to bring UT out of trouble once again. Bawa and Manan scored a 90-run partnership. In the last over , Manan was trapped LBW by Tanay Thyagarajan . Manan scored 110 runs off 167 balls. Bawa contributed an unbeaten 39 when the stumps were drawn.
