Man loses Rs 3.61L to online fraud

Chandigarh: A resident of Sector 40 has been duped of Rs 3.61 lakh on the pretext of buying an IELTS certificate without appearing for the exam. Kumar Prabhav reported that he had come across an advertisement posted on Instagram regarding IELTS certificate. He gave in to the offer and ended up losing money. The police have registered a case at the cybercrime station and started investigation. TNS

Juveniles held with stolen bike

Chandigarh: Two juveniles have been apprehended by the police after it was found that the motorcycle they were riding was stolen from near Panchkula. Both boys, aged 17, were apprehended near the Community Centre in Dhanas. They had affixed a fake Chandigarh number on the motorcycle. A case of theft was registered at the Mansa Devi Complex police station on December 29. A fresh case against the duo has been registered at the Sarangpur police station.
