Lending a helping hand to NHAI: Mohali admn

Mohali: The district administration has assured full support to the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) in the ongoing construction work on the Chandigarh-Kharar flyover. The project has missed yet another deadline. Earlier, officials of Larsen & Toubro, the company constructing the flyover, had said the work was moving at a snail’s pace as the district administration had delayed clearances. The officials had complained that the administration failed to have proper traffic diversions in place due to which commuters were having a tough time.

Mohali Additional Deputy Commissioner Aashika Jain said, “Last week, our team visited the site and assured support to the NHAI officials so that the construction work continues without any hindrance.” Meanwhile, the tardy pace of construction work has commuters at the receiving end, who lament that their daily travel is nothing short of a nightmare. Sahil, who commutes between Kharar and Chandigarh, said, “There are hardly any cops to regulate traffic on this stretch.
