Show comments

Chandigarh: Returning after over one year to the city, local MP Kirron Kher will cast her vote on Friday. She was suffering from multiple myeloma, a type of blood cancer, and was undergoing treatment in Mumbai, according to party colleagues. Kher returned to city on Wednesday. She had left the town on December 4 last year, said her spokesperson.

Through a video, Kirron said during the Congress rule, the then MP, Pawan Kumar Bansal, had brought the Jaypee company for setting up a waste processing plant, which did not work and gradually led to piling of waste at the dumping ground in Dadu Majra. Replying to her, Bansal claimed the garbage processing plant was working at the time of the Congress. The dump was almost at ground level. He said the BJP MP did nothing during her seven-year tenure. —TNS
