Kharar MC passes Rs 136-cr budget

The Kharar Municipal Council has passed a budget of Rs 136 crore for 2024–2025, which is an increase of Rs 5 crore from the past year. At the budget meeting today, Kharar MC Mayor Jaspreet Kaur Longia said the increasing population of stray dogs has been a cause for concern for residents of the area. He said that apart from building dog pounds in Kharar, they have started sterilising dogs. Addressing the concerns of poor sanitary conditions in the city, he said that segregation of dry and wet waste was discussed at the meeting.
