Mohali sees highest single-day spike of 44

The district recorded its 15th Covid death today.

Civil Surgeon Manjit Singh said the victim, a 65-year-old man of Kansal, was suffering from hypertension and diabetes. His samples were taken at the GMSH-16 in Chandigarh on July 31. After his report came positive, he was being taken to a hospital but died on the way.

Mohali also saw the highest single-day spike of 44 cases today, taking the tally to 894. The previous high of 36 was reported on July 13. — TNS
