Judoka Kamini wins gold

Kamini Yadav defeated Mehak Singh to win the -48kg category final on the second day of the State Judo Championship organised by the Amateur Judo Association of Chandigarh at the Sector 34 Sports Complex today. Rachna and Jyoti claimed bronze medal each.

In the -52kg final, Manisha easily overpowered Madhuri while Sakshi and Saniya Rai claimed joint bronze. In the -57kg category, Jyoti won the top position and Pooja claimed the second position. Shivani and Kairvi Sood claimed bronze medal each.

Chanderpal bags gold

Chanderpal won gold in the men’s -60kg category by defeating Jatin Kumar. Himanshu and Vicky won bronze medal each. In the men’s -66kg event, Parmod Kumar and Saksham Sharma won first and second positions, respectively, while Sumit Thakur and Vansh Thakur claimed bronze. In the men’s -73kg category, Aryan won gold medal and Aman bagged silver. Fardeen and Nitin claimed bronze medal each. — TNS
