Newly appointed Deputy Commissioner Isha Kalia stated this after assuming the charge at her office in the District Administrative Complex, Sector 76, here today.

She said accountability of all officers with respect to their work would be ensured.

On the strategy to thwart a possible third wave of Covid-19, Isha said she would review the action plan of the district and take precautionary measures to contain the highly contagious virus.

She stressed the need for delivery of development projects on time and said laxity in this regard would not be tolerated. Earlier, Isha was given a guard of honour by a contingent of the Punjab Police and she inspected the parade at the District Administrative Complex. Senior officials of the district were present on the occasion.

A 2009-batch IAS officer, Isha was earlier posted as the Director General of School Education (DGSE) and also held the additional charge of Secretary, Punjab School Education Board. She also served as Special Secretary, Department of Health and Family Welfare, as Deputy Commissioner of Hoshiarpur and Fazilka, as Special Secretary, Water Supply and Sanitation, as Additional Chief Executive Officer, Punjab Bureau of Investment Promotion, and as Member Secretary, Punjab State Women Commission.
