Inter-School Chess Championship: Delhi Public School, Sector 40, emerge chess champs

Delhi Public School, Sector 40, won the girls’ U-14 inter-school chess championship today. In the final, the Sector 40 team registered a (3-1) win over St Kabir School, Sector 26. Sacred Heart School, Sector 26, claimed the third position by defeating Strawberry Fields High School (3-1).

Earlier in semis, St Kabir defeated Strawberry School (3-1), while Delhi Public School ousted Sacred Heart (2-1).

Vanshika of GMSSS-22 shines in football

In the girl’s U-14 inter-school football championship, Vanshika scored a brace as Government Model Senior Secondary School (GMSSS), Sector 22, defeated Tribune Model School, Sector 29, by four goals. Vanshika (18th minute, 28th minute) netted two goals, followed by Manisha (24th minute) and Sonakshi (33rd minute) to confirm the win. Government Model High School (GMHS), Sector 20, registered a 1-0 win over St Soldier’s School, Sector 28. Janvi scored the only goal of the match in the 18th minute. Kids-R-Kids girls defeated GMSSS, Sector 21, by two goals. Kritika netted the first in the 6th minute, while Gurmanpreet Kaur doubled the lead in the 28th minute. Sri Guru Harkrishan Model School, Sector 38, defeated Government Senior Secondary School, Dhanas, (2-1). Sakshi Sahani put the Dhanas team in lead in the 26th minute. However, Divanshi levelled the score for the Sector 38 team. In the tie-breaker, Shubhi Vyas converted the spot-kick to help Sector 38 win the match.

St Joseph’s win TT meet

St Joseph’s School, Sector 44, won the girls’ U-14 inter-school table tennis championship. The team defeated Tender Heart School, Sector 33, (3-1) to win the title. St Anne’s School claimed third position by defeating Sacred Heart School (3-2).

GMSSS-15 in baseball final

GMSSS, Sector 15, defeated GMSSS, Sector 35, to reach the girls’ U-14 inter-school baseball final. The Sector 15 team recorded a (2-0) win over the hosts Sector 35. In the second semis, GMSSS, Sector 10, defeated St Anne’s School (4-1).
