Hurt in mishap, Chandigarh DSP’s wife dies

Chandigarh: A UT DSP’s wife, who had suffered injuries in a road accident last month, died at the PGI. The victim, Ranjan Sharma, wife of DSP Devender Sharma, was riding an Activa when a car driver suddenly opened the door of the vehicle following which her Activa rammed into it in Sector 19 on August 26.

She was seriously injured and hospitalised. The car driver, Hansdeep of Mohali, was arrested. The police have now added Section 304-A of the IPC to the case registered at the Sector 19 police station. TNS
