Goods worth lakhs reduced to ashes at Dera Bassi factory

A major fire broke out at a factory on the Dera Bassi-Barwala road early this morning. Goods worth lakhs were gutted in the fire.

As many as 15 fire tenders were pressed into service, which took around four hours to douse the flames.

According to information, plastic was recycled from solid waste at Riddhi Siddhi polymer factory.

Dera Bassi fire station in-charge Baljeet Singh said it took four hours to douse the flames. The exact cause of the fire was not known yet.

Eyewitnesses said the entire shuttering of the factory collapsed due to the fire, which hindered the fire-fighting operation.
