Fraudster traced to Jharkhand

The Cyber Crime Investigation Cell of the UT police nabbed a fraudster who used to cheat people in the name of Paytm refund. The suspect had duped a city resident of Rs40,000 in 2019.

The police said the complainant, Dr Vipul Aggarwal, had reported that he had received a call from a person who told him that he would get some refund from Paytm. The suspect took the complainant’s bank details and later Rs40,000 was transferred from his bank account.

The police traced the person in whose bank account the money was transferred and finally managed to nab the suspect, identified as Allimudina, a resident of Deoghar, Jharkhand. He was nabbed from Deoghar on February 16 and brought to the city.
