Fire breaks out at PRTC workshop near Patiala's Sirhindi gate

Documents kept at a PRTC workshop near the Sirhindi gate were destroyed in a fire on the workshop premises here today evening.

Fire officials said they reached the site in time and managed to douse the flames in a hall where documents were kept.

Madan Gopal Jalota, fire sub-officer, said, “We received a call at 4.35 pm after which a fire tender was sent to the site. As much as 25 per cent record kept on the workshop premises was damaged in the fire. We managed to douse the flames in a little over an hour.”

The exact cause of the fire was not known yet, he added.
