Chandigarh: An interdisciplinary faculty development programme will be organised at Panjab University from February 20 to February 26. Various factors responsible for social transformation in India will be discussed at various sessions during the programme. Some of the topics to be discussed are role of law, role of judiciary, role of education, role of technology, role of art and culture and other topics. There will be no registration fee for the programme. tns

ICSI gets new Office-bearers

Chandigarh: New office-bearers have been elected to the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI), Chandigarh chapter. The office-bearers are CS Anil Kumar Dhiman (Chairman), CS Vishawjeet Gupta (Vice-Chairman), CS Puneet Tangri (Secretary) and CS Arshdeep Kaur Judge (Treasurer). All new members were elected during the annual meeting of the managing committee of the ICSI held recently in Chandigarh. The office-bearers took charge of their offices in the presence of Raj Bala Malik, Mayor, Chandigarh, and former judge Bharat Chugh at a seminar held at Hotel Hometel. tns

40 take part in course at IIT

Ropar: More than 40 candidates from various institutes and industry in the region. Prof Ren-Song Ko from National Chung Cheng University, Taiwan, is visiting the IIT-Ropar as part of an exchange visit. The course, which started on January
