DJ, hotel manager booked for playing loud music in Panchkula hotel

The police booked a disc jockey (DJ) and a hotel manager for allegedly causing noise pollution by playing loud music without permission at a hotel in Chowki village here last night.

According to the FIR, the policemen during a routine patrolling in the area found out that loud DJ music was being played at Hotel North Park, causing disturbance to people in its proximity.

The police subsequently asked the hotel staff to bring down the sound level, but they refused to do so. When asked about the permission, they failed to show the requisite authorisation to play the music.

Those booked have been identified as DJ Amit Kumar, who lives in Baltana, and manager Pawan.

They have been booked under Sections 188 (disobedience to order duly promulgated by public servant), 290 (punishment for public nuisance) and 291 (continuance of nuisance after injunction to discontinue) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and

relevant sections of the Noise Pollution Control Rules at the Chandimandir police station.
