Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar to attend Panjab University convocation

Vice President and Chancellor of Panjab University Jagdeep Dhankhar will attend the 71th convocation of the university on March 7.

Governors and chief ministers of Haryana and Punjab are likely to attend the convocation, where the university will confer three Honoris Causa degrees and four university’s Ratna awards.

It will be Dhankhar’s third official visit to Panjab University. He had attended the third global alumni meet of the university in November 2022 and last year’s convocation in May.

Names of Dr Krishnaswamy Kasturirangan (Doctor of Science), professor Unnat P Pandit (Doctor of Laws) and professor Balram Bhargava (Doctor of Science) for Honoris Causa Degrees, while Dr JK Bajaj (Gyan Ratna), Bhadur Singh Chauhan (Khel Ratna), Ninder Ghugianvi (Sahitya Ratna) and Sachin Bansal (Udyog Ratna) were approved by the university’s senate.

The university will also invite personalities such as Olympics gold medallist javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra and actor Ayushmann Khurana, who couldn’t attend previous convocations.
